Linda J. Barnby is currently Immediate Past Chair-Elect of The Florida Bar General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Section. She has served as Chair of The Florida Bar Family Law Section Adoption Committee; President of the Florida Association of Adoption Lawyers, 1998-1999; Member of the Board of Directors of the Daniel Memorial Adoption Information Center Advisory Board; and Appointee to The Florida Bar Adoption Task Force. She was the founder, administrative director and legal counsel of the Adoption Agency of Central Florida, Inc., a non-profit agency. She is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, Seminole County Bar Association and the Florida Adoption Council. She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator in Family, County and Circuit Civil.

She has been an active legislative lobbyist on adoption related issues since 1990. She is a 1976 graduate of the University of Florida, cum laude. She is a 1986 graduate of the University of Florida School of Law. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1986.

Ms. Barnby practices in Maitland, Florida in the areas of family law, mediation and adoption. She is married and is an adoptive parent.
